GAME SAFARIS
A nature walk through the forest on any of the trails, will give you an opportunity to see and learn about primates, bird species, Bwindi s colorful array of butterflies, trees, pre-historic tree ferns and other organisms. The forest itself is lush and green and there are streams running through it.
While in Bwindi, along the Rushura trail on a clear day, you have a spectacular view of Lake.Edward and Rwenzori Mountains and Congo s Parc National des Virungas.
Uganda s astonishing diversity of wildlife is due to its situation at the junction of East African savannas, the West African rainforests and the semi-arid Sahelian zone of North Africa.
The endemic Uganda Kob, as well as lion, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, baboons, giraffes, cheetahs, Uganda kobs, the rare situtungas, water bucks, bush bucks, bush pigs, chimpanzees are of excellent viewing.
Game safari activities in Mt.Elgon National Park include cave exploration, hiking, bird watching and vegetation exploits.
Wildlife enthusiasts will be pleased to spot primates such as the Black and White Colobus Monkey, Blue monkey and if you are particularly observant you can also see buffalo, duiker, hyena or even the elusive leopard.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is a home to a variety of wildlife, including the elephant, lion, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog, forest buffalo, baboon, and the handsome Uganda kob.
The park s elusive attractions and activities also include the famous tree-climbing lions in Ishasha, the habituated chimps in Kyambura Gorge harbours, Maramagambo Forest the home to an alluring selection of forest monkeys and birds, and the amazing crater lakes flocked with water birds like flamingo, Kingfishers, pelicans, cormorants, among others.
Kibale National Park hosts 335 mammals, Some of terrestrial mammals include buffalo, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelope species and the elusive forest elephant, smaller and hairier than its savannah counterpart.
Kidepo Valley National Park harbors a great diversity of animal species than other parks. Of 475 Bird species and 86 species of mammals listed in 1971, 28 were not known to occur in any other Uganda. Carnivore species unique to Kidepo and Karamoja region include the Bat-eared fox, stripped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, cheetah and hunting dog.
An early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park; on the Buligi, Albert or Queens tracks north of the river Nile will yield animals that are unique to the African Savannah like giraffe, antelope, lion, elephant, and the Uganda kob. May also visit Nyamisika cliffs.
Lake Mburo National Park has 315 bird species and 72 different species of mammals. Commonest are the Zebras, Impala, Topis, and Elands as herbivores and also sighting of Roan Antelopes, Leopards, Hyenas and Jackals as predators.
The park has a number of tourist tracks that are used when viewing wildlife. Named after the tracks (Impala track and Zebra track), Impala and Zebra species are the most viewed along these tracks.
Kigambira loop takes you through a wooded expanse with scattered thicket, with possibility of viewing Bush Bucks and Bush Duikers
